Kellen Brooks | Michigan Gospel

Kellen has spent his entire life immersed in music. He received his start in church, singing with his brothers and playing the organ at age 10. Kellen’s musical growth was rapid and he soon began writing and producing songs as well. Kellen has played with various gospel artists including Kierra Sheard, The Clark Sisters, Lisa Brooks, Rance Allen; notable jazz musicians such as Rodney Whitaker and Ben Williams (From Pat Metheny’s Unity Band), and a host of other musicians and singers.

In 2010, Kellen played at the Sous Le Pommiers Jazz Fest in Coutances, France with gospel group The Singletons.

Kellen plays Hammond B3 organ every week at his church, Pentecostal Temple (Inkster, MI) and  classical piano.

Following in the pattern of great musicians and producers such as Stevie Wonder, Tommy Sims, Prince, and PJ Morton, Kellen is a multi-instrumentalist (piano, organ, bass, guitar, harmonica) and performs multiple instruments on his recordings. Kellen’s music embraces a variety of genres and has sounds reminiscent Motown, Folk, rock and traditional Gospe.l

Kellen is also a budding producer, producing local Michigan talent as well as his own debut release, Free For All (April 2013).
